CSR GUIDELINES

As a global company with bases in North America, Indonesia, and other countries, we (Sugiura Seisakusho Co., Ltd. and its affiliates) will make effort to disseminate and permeate initiatives for the following items in order to contribute to the creation of a livable earth and a prosperous society as well as to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through all business activities in each country and region.

  • We will develop and implement systems such as policies, structures, behavioral guidelines, reporting systems, and education to ensure thorough compliance.

  • We will strictly manage our company's confidential information, such as sales secrets, and use it appropriately.
  • We will obtain confidential information of other companies from legitimate authorities in a legitimate manner, confirm the rage of use and other conditions, use it only within that range, maintain confidentiality, and will not violate the rights of others.
  • We will obtain all personal information regarding employees, customers, business partners, etc., only through legitimate methods, and will strictly manage the information we obtain while also using and protecting the information within an appropriate range.
Protection of Intellectual Property
  • We will protect and be cautious to prevent intellectual property rights and etc. owned by or belonging to our company from being violated by third parties.
  • We will not illegally acquire or use intellectual property such as patents, utility models, designs, and trademarks of third parties, nor violate the rights of third parties by illegally copying software or books.

2.Human Rights and Labor

  • We will not discriminate individuality that should be protected by applicable laws and regulations of each country such as race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, and gender in any hiring situation (application, hiring, promotion, reward, educational rights, work assignment, wages, benefits, punishments, termination, retirement, etc.).
Respect for Human Rights
  • We will not tolerate any form of harassment in the workplace based on human rights, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, gender, or any other individuality that should be protected by the applicable laws and regulations of each country.
  • We define harassment as verbal, visual, or physical conduct directed toward employees that impedes performance, undermines dignity, or creates an intimidating, hostile, or unpleasant work environment.
  • We will promptly report and investigate any complaints of harassment. We also will create an environment where employees can report any instances of harassment without fear of retaliation, intimidation, or harassment.
Prohibition of Land Grab
  • We will not participate in land grabbing. Additionally, we will not procure from those who are complicit in land grabbing.

  • We do not use child labor.
  • We consider the working age to be 15 years old or the minimum working age or compulsory education completion age according to the applicable laws and regulations of each country, whichever is highest.
  • We do not use employees under the age of 18 for hazardous work.
  • For work training or apprenticeships, we will allow employment to the extent permitted by the applicable laws and regulations of each country.
Forced Labor
  • We do not use forced labor.
  • We ensure that all work is voluntary and that employees are free to leave their jobs.
  • We do not require employees to hand over their passports, official identification documents, or work permits as a condition of employment. Please also note that employees are employed legally.
Wages
  • We pay wages to our employees in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations of each country regarding minimum wages, overtime, wage deductions, piece wages, and other benefits.
  • We provide legally required benefits.
  • We comply with the applicable laws and regulations of each country regarding benefits and other benefits, welfare benefits, and deductions, and clearly communicate details to employees in a timely manner.

  • We will conduct procurement activities that take into account the impact on local communities caused by the use of raw materials that may provoke social problems such as human rights and the environment (e.g., *conflict minerals from Congo, etc.). Should there be concerns, we will take measures to avoid its use.
